cancel my membership

I was a virgin active member for nearly 10 years.I lost my job, then my virgin active membership was eventually terminated.I got temporally job recently and signed with virgin active again.My employer told me that the contract will not be renewed and i subsequently inform my club about the situation.The manager called me and advised me that i will have to freeze it and pay R145 pm or pay a settlement amount which is over R20000.I lost my job i'm not utelising the club anymore because of this.So why would i be expected to pay an amount i don't have and agree on a reduced debit order which i know i wont be able to afford?I find this unfair and very biased.What must i do if my employer is not renewing my contract?I asked the manager about my options ,she gave me payment one.Despite my explanation to her that i will not be able to pay come January next year. So virgin Active does not take into consideration my previous good standing with them,only wants me to pay over R2000 for not using the gym?I will not be employed if my credit record has been tarnished by Virgin Active for advising them in advance that i am unable to pay.I must prepare for life without employment until l i die.
