Being nagged by MBD debt Collectors for a Virgin Active account I never signed contract for

I am neither a Virgin Active nor have I ever thought about joining Virgin Active. Buy my review is pertaining to a legal battle that I am fighting with them as they handed me to a debt collection company named MBD. Of late, I have been getting missed calls from this company but normally disregard phone numbers that I am not aware of. However, someone I left with my phone spoke to the Agent called Tebogo from MBD and said I have a legal matter and that I must call them urgently. 12/12/18. They left a very long reference number. I called the guys when I was back home and to my surprise told me that Virgin Active have handed a matter to them and I must pay for the outstanding balance of the account.

I told the Agent at MBD that she must speak to Virgin Active that I have never joined nor taken Interest in whatever services they offer. I asked Agent which branch referred the matter and she told me it was as Virgin Active Sanctuary. She advised me that I must still answer to their calls whilst they investigating the matter of which I told her I am not going to do so, because she had no legal rights to collect anything from me as I never signed any document that states that I am an active member of that company. I later googled Virgin Active Sanctuary branch to find out who was responsible for accounts for clients etc. I spoke to Zach in the Admin department who Indicated my name was on file buy account was not activated. I asked him if account wasn't activated why am I being handed over for an account I am not aware of...? I haven't been at the Sanctuary nor to any Virgin Active branches. He make assumptions that I might have been paying for someone who had an account...to me that is a total ******* of my rights because how can a company make an assumption that I was paying for someone? I said did I sign anything or did anyone from their offices claim that I acknowledge via phone that I will pay for anyone...? Of which he could not respond. I had promised to go Saturday to make sure that sort this matter out buy am not going to waste my time because I am not going to do so either. They should clear my name as Soon as possible. That's why I am asking you hello Peter what my rights are? At what length Will I have to go they test this matter. The issue is if there was anyone who Zach never mentioned In our telephonic conversation who presumed signed contract, why was my part as a surity skipped, why was I called to sign. Who signed for me? It's not about who came to open account but it's about the procedure to activate am account and take money from someone who is already struggling with a baby with nappies and milk etc and now I am held responsible for so long in their admin who failed to do the right paper work and right procedure to do so. I need help please. I am even a foreign national and don't even know who can help me as I am hit left right and centre. I can't keep on rceiving calls from MBD as they are also trying their luck to squeeze money out of me. How can an account that is claimed inactive be even handed over. ?
