Battling to sign up

Having being a member of Virgin active for many years and recieving discounts as a member of Vitality, I cancelled my membership due to purchasing a home gym. Recently, work requires me to travel and I decided to rejoin the gym as they have a number of gyms where I travel. I was informed that due to me not being a mber for over 3 months, I would have to pay a join up fee of R 1850. I decided to rejoin on the 14 June as a special was on at the time whereby I could recieve money back from the R 1850 join up provided I go to the gym 8 times before end July. I signed up with Vitality on the 14th June and was told that I would be able to sign up with Virgin Active on the 15th June once my Vitality membership reflected on the gyms system. I contacted Virgin Active Waterfall in Johannesburg throughout the process of enquiry to trying to sign up at the gym and had very poor response from the sales team. after a number of phone calls and visits to the club, a sales member only got back to me on the 20th June to confirm that my membership with Vitality was reflecting on their system and that I could come in and join the gym. I was also told that the special that had been on offer at the time of trying to sign up had now expired and that I would not recieve this special.

After pleading with the sales member to contact Virgin Active head office, he got back to me and informed me that he could not assist me in recieving the special, even though the gym was at fault in not responding to me on the 15th June due to their system being down at the time and not being able to find my membership status on the Vitality system. I am sure that if the saleman had done his job and contacted Vitality, I would have joined in time to recieve the special.
