Bad Service, Contract Breach

In July 2016 I was called by a staff member from brigh****er commons about Gym membership. I was thinking og getting a new membership(i was a member before) and told the consultant that I was going to do this but through Momemtum Multiply. The consultant guided me through the process and put me in touch with an agent to reactivate my multiply. I then contacted momentum reactived policy and multiply and then as promised visited Virgin active. Now the agent said they will give me a week and a bit free until the end of the month at the gym but this is through a loop hole that he discovered that he is not supposed to know about. The Then I need to visit on 1 August and then they will recapture my details as a multiply user. The consultant advised that on 1 August my account would be debited with R1380 but this would be refunded the next day and then R700 x 2 would be charged for activation and about R320 x 2 would be charged for the months gym. I am budgeting and asked the consultant would there be any other fees and they confirmed there would be none. So I was happy with the arrangement. On 1 August I visited the Brigh****er Commons Gym and the consulatnt was not there. I asked to speak to someone else as the other consultant says this should be done on the 1st. So another consultant assisted. They then guided me through the process. I asked what is being accepted and then consultant said not to worry about it and took the pad and clicked through the accept buttons. I then wanted to confirm what payments will be going through and then the consultant mentioned the gym fees of about 320 and the activation fee of about R700 x 2 , but then they mentioned that there is a card fee that needs to be paid as well. At which point I said I was not advised of the card fee. I told the consultant if there is a card fee which I was not informed of they should cancel everything. The consultant then said they will let the card fee go through and then my account will go into arrears and they will reverse it the following day. That i was happy with. I also asked about my reversal of the R1380 that went off my account and then the consultant said it should take a week, but if it does not happen I should go to the branch to reverse it. They said they would contact me the following day for the collection of the card. The following day no one contacted, a week later, no reversal was done and no debits were made on my account. No contact from Virgin Active at all. Closer to the end of the month I get a call from Virgin Active saying my account is in arrears. I explained to the agent everything that i have typed above and then the agent said they will get back the branch to contact me. No contact for 2 weeks, then Prince from Brigh****er commons contacted me and said the reason the contract didnt convert is because of the card fee. I told him the same thing i told original agent, that if there is a card fee they must cancel everything. He said he would get back to me after speaking to his manager. I still have not heard anything yet. Next month Virgin Active debited my account again and I was forced to return it again. A few days later a collections agent called me to say my account is in arrears and i explained the same things and agent then advised i am signed up for a 24 month contract and if I want to cancel I am elligible for R4000 or I must make a payment for at least 1 month and then go do the conversion again and then pay all the fees including the card fees. Now I have not even used the gym at all, because as best as I was aware no deal was concluded and the original agreement was not met. The collections agent said that my account would be handed over and I said that she should if it meant that someone will call me to assist with the issue.

No one has yet been able to respond. My experiences with Virgin Active has not been great and all i actually want for them to do now is just cancel everything and restore the status quo to how things were before I spoke to any staff from Virgin Active and if I want to sign up, i will just find a decent staff member who can take me through the process in a transparent way. At the moment I dont feel like I want to have any dealing with virgin active. Really not a great experience.

The reason I am here is because there website does not allow for comments greater than 250 characters.
