Bad service

Someone used my number for their account. Mpho and her/his account is now behind. How does this happen? Doesn't a company as big as Virgin active check numbers or update their system after I told the man on the phone that this isn't her number. Any ideas to join a Virgin Active is now out of the window as this is the type of things they do.
