Bad and/or non-existent customer relationship management
Last year July I joined Discovery as required by my new employer, and as a gym fanatic, I also added Vitality benefit for Virgin Active as they are close to me and my work. Surprisingly, after enjoying my first 3 months promotional period, I was told my vitality membership was cancelled, only God knows who cancelled the membership! Some guy called me bringing that to my attention, and I told him I never cancelled, and he asked if he could re-instate it and I gave a go-ahead. Now, In April, I go to the gym as usual, around 0530 am and I learn my account is in arrears as my vitality was cancelled. Since then I have been going to-and-fro call desks between Vitality and Virgin Active, while Vitality re-activated my membership, Virgin Active have since failed to re-activate my card, and today I was told I need to apply for a new membership as I have a new Vitality membership..as they cannot re-activate the old membership account! So much inconvenience for something not initiated by me the customer? I have evidence my bank account had more than sufficient funds on the agreed debit date, and they cannot provide me with proof I cancelled the membership AND THIS EXPLAINS THIS WHOLE MESS IS NOT CAUSED BY ME THE CUSTOMER BUT RATHER THEIR SYSTEM! Honestly speaking,I only joined Virgin Active because of the gym benefit, nothing else. And now to be treated as I am being extended an arm of favour for the services I agreed to pay for is simply pathetic and bad customer care from such big companies. Totally disappointing coming from them. CRM doesn't seem to exist, my experience over the past two weeks have been a lot of inconvenience and is hindering my physique goals.
