Absolutely ridiculous price increase!!!!
Myself and my wife have recently taken VA gym contracts via the Discovery Vitality scheme. We were appalled to read an email notification from VA that our fees are to increase by 35%!!! Which company in their right mind escalates fees by this much??? Truth be told, the Bel Air mall gym is nothing special as well. We do not want to see a generic response to this as it makes absolutely no sense to keep this contract and to be ****** so blatantly! The excuse that Discovery have slightly dropped their contribution with regards to these contracts makes no sense...how can a 5% decrease in subsidy warrant a 35% increase in fees???! This complaint should surely find its way to their parent company overseas...as it is an absolute abuse of the affected members!

From January 2016 Vitality is dropping their subsidy from 80% to 75% in 2016. This means that you will be paying for 25% of the Virgin Active membership fee and not 20% as in the past. The increased membership fee for 2016 is made up of the difference in subsidy as well as the standard increase.
The great news is that Vitality have introduced a fantastic initiative, which allows you the opportunity to get up to 100% off your gym fees in 2016.
