A distasteful service encounter
I arrived at the reception area with a friend who I had brought along for a day pass as it was his first time in the gym and he wanted to see what its like before joining. I have successfully done this in the past with no issue. I spoke to a woman named, Ingrid, who is an Admin Manager at Virgin Active, Tygervally. I do admit that Ingrid was correct in stating that the policy had changed and that my friend couldn't gain entrance without paying. I understand this and admit I had not been aware of Virgin Active changing the policy. I am not disputing her grip of the club's policy and rules, I am disputing the manner in which she treated me as a client.

Ingrid was short with me, aggressive in her tone and harbored a genuinely distasteful attitude towards me. I had admitted I was in the wrong and that I had a problem that needed a solution. Ingrid was unfased and eager to get rid of me. Noticing her aggressiveness towards me, I politely asked to speak to someone else, after which, I got my problem sorted. Ingrid represents Virgin Active and therefore is the embodiment of the company's values. Do you really want this? She embarrassed me in front of other members and my friend. Thanks.
Thank you so much for taking my call today.
Please accept our sincere apologies for the level of service received.
As discussed, I have addressed your concerns with senior management and you will be contact by the club general manager, Jaun, shortly.
Kindest regards
Robyn
