3 months to reinstate

Sometime in February I called the virgin active call centre to cancel my membership. I took the membership under vitality years ago. The agent told me that I had 3 months to reinstate then I don't have to pay the vitality fee.

Yesterday I called them wanting to reinstate but I was told that it's actually 30 days . They told me that they will listen to the call and call me back. Then I was called another agent informing me that my account was in arrears and when can they collect the arrears and they will also include my next month's billing of which they will advise after reinstatement. I waited for the call to confirm and I was not called.

Today this afternoon I call them and I was told that I have to settle the arrears first before they can tell if they will reinstate or if I have to pay R1500 before they reinstate.

I have been a member of virgin active since 2006, so over 10 years now. I'm not happy with service that I got. I do understand and agreed that I will pay the arrears but R 1500 after I paid R800 to get the vitality thing.

Maybe I should rather consider other gyms like Planet, Gym Company and etc. if this kind treatment I will get from virgin active.
