15% Annual Increase

<p>In SA the average anual salary review is around the official inflation, which is about 6%. Virgin Active know this but choose to ignore it and increase their annual fees by 15% - that is two and half times the annual inflation.</p> <p>When you phone the call centre they say the increases are not set by them but rather by each club, notwithstanding that I have a national membership.</p> <p>Their letter is cleverly written as well and does not tell you what the increase is, it simply informs you of the new monthly cost. They rely on the fact that most people do not check the increase percentage.</p> <p>I also have little option to change gyms as they are the only gym close to both home and work.</p> <p>Another case of the consumer being **********!!!</p>
