Worst experience ever. We booked in a Land Rover Freelander 2 at Violet Automotive in Strijdom Park. We received a quotation for R23000 ,and had a face to face meeting to discuss the above and was assured that this was the problem, which then ended up costing us R27087.00. After paying this amount the engine still wasn't repaired and a further R9528.24 to repair the cylinder head was quoted and paid for. They then miss diagnosed that the turbo rear bearing was faulty and they wanted to charge another R15000 to have this repaired. We then took the car to alpine turbo who then sorted out the turbo for R4830. The engine has now seized. The owner then suggested that we get the Engineer that worked on the cylinder head to give his opinion, this didn't happen. The owner then suggested we get a Landrover specialist to give their opinion and said that, the Turbo was the cause of the engine seizing up and not the work of Violet Automotive. After a lengthily meeting at the specialist, they assured us that the turbo wasn't leaking oil and was not the cause for the engine seizing. After spending almost R40 000.00 and driving 200 kms in the Landrover from when we got vehicle back from the turbo specialist .The owner of Automotive sent a WhatsApp saying they are not accepting any liability for the Freelander.
