AUTOMATIC RECURRING BILLING WITHOUT NOTICE

This is a South African website where you can check the background details of a vehicle with the use of the VIN no. of the vehicle. You pay for a report with all the details. You are directed to a safe payment platform to enter your card details and then the report is made available to you. It is supposedly a once-off fee that you pay. They just deducted an amount of R 530 from my credit card. When I went back to their website to see what is it all about, they have in their Terms and Conditions a section called: AUTOMATIC RECURRING BILLING. In there they stipulate that when you buy a report you basically sign up a recurring client and agree to a monthly deduction from your credit card. Is this even legal?

Nowhere do they stipulate this when you buy the once-off report. I would not suggest that you use them for doing background checks on vehicles.
