Beware of Vintage Decorators - Cape Town Northern Suburbs

Warning regarding Vintage Decorators I would like to share my experience in order to alert others. I received a quotation from Hentie Kotze for the installation of a glass front door, with the assurance that the work would be completed within three days once the door was returned from the painters for colour matching. Two months later, the installation is still incomplete, and I continue to struggle to get his contractors to finish the job and correct the defects. Mr Kotze has taken no responsibility for the ongoing issues and consistently shifts the blame onto others. Communication has been extremely poor — calls go unanswered, messages are ignored, and previously agreed-upon arrangements change repeatedly without explanation. Although I paid Mr Kotze directly for the work, he maintains that the problems are not his responsibility and insists that I resolve them with his contractor. The final workmanship delivered is far below the level of professionalism one would reasonably expect. The front door was not the only project involved. We also converted a window into a separate entrance. The first door was ordered incorrectly and had to be removed because it opened on the wrong side and lacked the requested glass. When the replacement door arrived, it was again installed incorrectly, and the workers plastered around it to the point where it could not open at all. After the plastering and painting were completed, I discovered that the door had essentially been plastered into the wall. Mr Kotze once again had to break it out and redo the work. In summary: I strongly advise caution when considering Vintage Decorators. Should you choose to work with them, ensure that all agreements are in clear and detailed writing.
