Disgusting nursing treatment of my husband who was dying at Vincent Pallotti

My husband Mike Perkin was admitted on 28 October. By Friday 30 October, he had picked up 2 infections and was moved into isolation. Mike was discharged on 4 November (8 days later) to go into St Luke's where he passed away on 16 November. St Luke's was beyond amazing, no comparison to Vincent Pallotti. During the 8 days that Mike was in Vincent Pallotti, he had NO!!! mouth care. On at least 5 occasions, had to call the nurse because the drip was not working - and then there was no immediate response. On at least 3 occasions when I was visiting, no response when I asked for a bed pan ( I walked down the passage looking for a nurse, when I found one and asked where I could find somebody to assist with a bed pan, I was waved towards a nurse in a ward. About 15 minutes later, a nurse arrived with the bed pan - too late and so they had to clean up. He was in pain and hanging onto the side bars until the nurse came. Apart from anything else, the indignity of having messed in the bed and through no fault of his own!!) I assisted him when he needed to urinate. The nurses were instructed to take extra care when changing the bed linen because he was in a lot of pain, that did not happen when I was there. Mike Perkin never ever complained. With the exception of 1 nurse, the nursing care during his stay was disgusting. The cell phones were in use almost constantly - AND THE NOISE, closing the door did help though. My husband never complains and at the age of 77, it would have been appreciated if he had been treated with respect and dignity. The doctors, Dr Lorimer, Dr Raats and Dr van der Pas were excellent. The reputation of Vincent Pallotti used to be excellent but no longer.
