The wheel turns!!!

<p>I live in East London while my parents live in Centurion. I decided to write this review on behalf of my parents, since they are having a nightmare experience with Johan van Vuuren!</p> <p> </p> <p>My dad is 82 years old and my mom is 81 years old. My dad has a very serious heart condition (He's been wearing a pacemaker for many years). My dad also has Parkinson's disease and is 3/4 blind. Because of the Parkinson's disease my dad can hardly walk any longer. My mom also has some serious health problems, though not as serious as my dad (my mom had been admitted to hospital more than once during the 6 months Johan van Vuuren had been playing around at their place).</p> <p> </p> <p>On 14 May 2016 Johan van Vuuren gave my dad a quote of R 46 800,00 for closing a verandah. He said the job should take 2 to 3 weeks to complete. Same day my dad paid him a deposit of R 30 000,00 (66%) since he said he has to buy material. On 23 May he told my dad that some or other hardware store has a special on material and that he needs another R 16 000,00 to be able to buy the material at the special price. Same day my dad paid him the R 16 000,00 (33%). Before you think it was unwise of my dad to pay him, please keep in mind that my dad is on extremely heavy medication for his Parkinson's disease and that the medication affects my dad's ability to operate normally.</p> <p> </p> <p>Johan van Vuuren made loads and loads of empty promises to my parents. He would always have excuses for not being on site and performing the work. Sometimes he would bring 2 bricklayers (either late morning or early afternoon) and drop them off at my parents with only a few bricks. After an hour they ran out of bricks and would then lie around for a couple of hours till he picks them up. Very often he would disappear for more than a week without even notifying my parents. When my dad then called him he often refused to answer his phone. Other times he would answer his phone but either made empty promises or have lots of excuses. Once he completely disappeared for more than 2 weeks. When my dad eventually got hold of him, he told my dad his mother passed away and he attended the funeral in Kimberley (I have very good reason to believe that it was just another lie/excuse).</p> <p> </p> <p>On 26 July 2016 a lawyer sent him a letter on my dad's behalf, instructing him to be finished by 19 August 2016. Needless to say, he completely ignored the letter (I told him once that I am convinced he receives more letters from lawyers than he receives ads in the post). It is now 3 months later and he did very little work during this period.</p> <p> </p> <p>I called him a couple of times (from East London) asking whether he had bought the remaining material, especially the roof, aliminium sliding door and aluminium windows (remember my dad paid him 99% of the entire amount more than 5 months ago). Every time he confirmed that he had bought everything. Every time I told him that the material is my dad's property and that he must deliver it and store it in my dad's garage until he is ready to install it, he told me that he will deliver the remaining material as and when needed for installation. I know he stole the money and never bought the material!</p> <p> </p> <p>This guy is sleek and the biggest bull#@*#ter I have ever "met" (I have only spoken to him over the phone).</p> <p> </p> <p>I understand from many people that he gives a very good impression when you meet him... This is a tool that he uses to deceive people to enable him to ***** their money!... It also explains why he is so "successfull" and why so many people fell for his ****s!</p> <p> </p> <p>His life consists of robbing people, lies, excuses and empty promises! When confronted he just denies everything!... Let him go and deny in court!!!...</p> <p> </p> <p>The mere fact that he took advantage of 2 elderly, very unhealthy people (that trusted him) shows that he has no scruples whatsoever!!! My parents have worked hard all their life and deserves everything they have today! This relatively young, healthy guy (especially when compared to my parents) is too pathetic to work and prefers to rob people (including pensioners).</p> <p> </p> <p>I am going to lay theft charges against him at the Commercial Crimes Unit of the Police. I am also going to lodge a complaint at ASASA (Advertising Standards Authority of South Africa).
