Villa Para****hole
Not worth your money at all. We got this place on a special so it was more reasonable so was about R900 per night for myself and my friend. They have a strict no loud music rule, there are also regulations around noise control for the consideration of the other guests but we were kept awake until 1-2am due to noisy, disruptive, screaming, fighting guests who were playing very loud music. We were not informed about the conference happening on the first day when we checked in so we were subsequently chased from the pool area because they were using that area occasionally (smoke breaks & lunch). We were told that an SMS would be sent to us with all the info they gave us at reception but that never happened. We had no hot water on the first day but they did fix that. The rooms are a lot smaller than depicted in the photos. The bathroom door doesn't close properly, you have to slam it. One of our lights and plug points weren't working. Let's just say that their marketing team are being paid big time because their site looks amazing and you do not get anything remotely close to the experience they are advertising. The beds were comfy, the housekeeping staff come round daily so it is clean & it is a very central place, being right next to the aerial cableway but I'd recommend any other accommodation but this one. We had booked from the Friday until the Monday (3 nights). We reported to management on the Saturday about the disruptions and we were given guaranteed confirmation that it would not happen again & that it would be "made up to us" well, we were kept up again the next night and the music was even louder on the Saturday night. The security guard tried to close it down and that ended up in a screaming match at midnight amongst the disruptive guests. We decided not to stay the third night because at this point to chance it & trust that management can control their business, was not realistic. We packed up and checked out on the Sunday to rest from our "rest" on the Monday. The Pamensky spa is cute, needs a bit of smoothing out but something really good going on there and I think their future is bright once they smooth out some of the rough edges.
Maintenance on the rooms needs to be better, security staff cannot be limited to one man alone especially when you are so busy, management needs to improve (cannot expect a man to control such a large group of people, seems like your premises can hold 100-150 guests) & overall standard needs to be improved. Would not recommend to anyone but would rather encourage someone not to book with Villa Paradiso.
