Disappointing experience at Vida e Caffe, Hypermarket Ottery

I have been to more than one Vida and have always enjoyed their fresh, cheesy sandwiches. Last weekend I decided to give the Vida e Caffe at the Ottery Hypermarket a try. What a huge let-down!

My disappointment started even before we received our food. Our order was ready and waiting but the waitress first decided to finish her conversation with a fellow worker before bringing our now cooling coffees and sandwiches. My sandwich disintegrated in my hands after the first bite. I ended up with 4 separate pieces from one slice of bread. This made me seriously question the freshness of my sandwich. When I opened the sandwich up to investigate further, I struggled to find the cheese underneath the macon and egg. Areas of my sandwich were DRY. I showed one of the staff members who happened to be emptying the bin and he just shrugged, apologized, and said that he'd inform the ladies who prepare the sandwiches at the back. If this is the level of respect and care that is given to paying customers then I really have no words. I think that the staff needs to be trained properly and this includes how to prepare the sandwiches to the standards that Vida is renowned for.
