Doctor negligence

Absolutely pathetic facility with an even worse Doctor in Doctor Padiachy. I went to see him with an extremely high blood pressure reading and believing I was on the verge of having a stroke. He checked me, confirmed my extremely high blood pressure but then said my reflexes were fine and that I’ll be ok. He gave me a script for blood pressure tablets and sent me home. Less than three hours later I was rushed to Midlands Medical Centre where a brain scan and blood tests confirmed that I’d just had a stroke. They confirmed that I came very close to loosing my life. I spent the next two weeks at Royal hospital undergoing rehabilitation and will continue to do so until I have full function of the left side of my body. This has all caused massive emotional stress to my wife and kids and has ruined my quality of life and has put my livelihood in jeopardy. All doctors and experts at the other facilities mentioned above have noted that I should have never been allowed to go home until my pressure was brought under control or should have been immediately referred to an emergency medical centre. My brother who is a medical doctor in Australia is of the same beliefs. They all believe that he could have prevented the stroke had he exercised due diligence and taken swifter, more appropriate action. I have reached to Doctor Padiachy via email to inform him of of my intentions to seek legal advise, but after almost a week have yet to receive a response. I now plan to go go ahead and seek legal advice for damages, emotional distress and loss of earnings due to his negligence and also report the matter to the HPCSA
