Victoria Hospital surprises

As a Medical Scheme member with access to private care, I was concerned to have to take a critically ill family member with no medical cover to Victoria Hospital in Cape Town. Having been to Emergency, High Care, and the short stay ward, I have only good things to say about the hospital. It is well organized, clean, safe, and the staff are professional, caring and friendly. We lost our family member, sadly, but the care he received from the doctors was as good as any I've seen. We were kept updated at least twice daily by the doctors themselves. We believe they did everything they could to save him and treated our family with empathy and kindness. I have new respect for our public hospitals in Cape Town. They have a lot on their shoulders and they are doing their best to serve their communities to the highest possible standard.
