VFS Pretoria useless

VFS South Africa (Pretoria) is extremely slow when attending to applications and there's absolutely no one to talk to to help resolve issues or track progress. I am currently on a spousal Visa (husband is South African) and have gotten an offer of employment, everything is sorted with the company I am meant to work for except I need to have permission to work (visitors 11-6), which I app**** for on 26/09/2018 (AURN no TRC ********** ) with no feedback whatsoever from VFS, their tracker is useless as all it says is "application received by DHA on 01/10/18, what I am supposed to say to an employer? Tomorrow marks 10 weeks since my initial application, I could lose the job
