VFS Global reaping us off our refunds

VFS Global Brooklyn agents wrongly advised me about an application. I was told to complete forms and schedule an appointment in order for me to take those documents to Home affairs and get a letter of good cause. When I got to Home affairs I was told I was not supposed to do that and even if I was too get the letter it would be months from now. I cancelled the appointment since I was unable to submit any papers without it and requested for full refund. I was only paid R500 out of the R1350 I paid. It was a mission to get this refund and now another problem for them to fully refund me because of their incompetence and misleading information. If I had known I would not have paid a cent based on the information I received from Home Affairs. Agents at VFS Global seem to be u knowledgeable when it comes to working with Home Affairs.
