VFS Global

I do not normally write poor online reviews as I prefer to take it up with the relevant business directly.

Seeing that this matter is unresolved since the begining of January 2015 (1 year and 7 months) and that they blatantly refuse to assist, I have no other choice.

On 22 December 2015 we app**** for an employee's work permit on VFS Global's website.

The appointment was paid online by entering my card details on their website. The amount went off bank my account, the website confirmed that I have paid and I was able to schedule the appointment (PR***35505).

When the employee showed up for his appointment they took all his documentation which he waited ages for (he also had to commute 2 hours just to get his police clearance as an example), just to tell him that they did not receive his payment and he had to leave without his paperwork.

I called in an effort to resolve the matter and I was told that I should have received a proof of payment from VFS Global via email, which I never did. I was then told that they are unable to resend it and now their admin problems have become mine.

In what way is it my problem if they are not able to send or to resend something?

Various calls and emails were sent to resolve this for more than a year.

I was then told that I need to send them the proof of payment, proving that I have paid.

The first problem with this is that I am not able to send them a proof of payment because I did not make an EFT to their account - they processed my card on their merchant account as anyone would when they buy groceries etc or food at any store.

What I then did was to send them a print screen image of my bank account to show that the amount did go off and the transaction reference matches their details (I VCS Visa ********** ********** 16).

I was then told that they have difficulties in allocating my payment, which is not my problem, and they requested a letter from my bank t prove that the amount of R1350 was deducted.

This was sent through to them along with a number of other supporting documents from the bank, proving that they have taken the amount from my card and that they did receive it.

On 18 January 2016, a year after, I was told, by Willie Stephens, from VFS Global that the problem is sorted out and that I may reschedule the appointment.

We scheduled the new appointment (PR***57140) after going through another hassle because the first needed to link my payment to the new appointment. This was only done on the 3rd of February.

Even after VFS confirmed that they have received my payment and linked the payment to the new appointment they refused to process the application once again when the employee visited them - again, stating that we have not paid, even though he provided them with all the documentation and confirmation from VFS that they did receive the payment.

The employee was then told that VFS has 6 bank accounts and that we need to prove into which bank account the payment was made. Once again, this is impossible as we did not make a payment, they "took" the payment from the card. If you swipe your card at any shop, how is it possible to say into which of their accounts the payment was made.

It's not my responsibility to figure out into which account their card payments are made.

Thereafter Willie referred us to Zakhiti at VFS who has up until now not bothered to do anything about it.

Three months after continuously getting Willie to get Zakhiti to solve the problem, Willie referred me to Khabir who is also under the impression that you can resolve problems by doing nothing about it.

At the end of the day this is theft, nothing else...
