Vague and over-complicated, intentionally

Visa Visiteur, a visitor visa is easy to describe. However when applying for an appointment, after filling out an online application, the categories for the visa (in English) do not include visitor visa at all. There are dozens but none seem to match missionary workers applying for the long term visa that can be renewed each year. This appears to be purposeful ************** and exclusion of the category that explicitly applies to visitors who will provide all their own financial resources as a legal non-working resident.
