Unfair UK Visa Refusal – Lack of Proper Review of Evidence

Review: I’m extremely disappointed with the way UKVI handled my Visitor Visa application (GWF***). My application was refused on 3 July 2025, and the reasoning provided shows a clear lack of attention to the documents I submitted — which I feel is careless, unfair, and frankly, disrespectful to applicants who take the process seriously.

I clearly indicated that I am a freelance English teacher contracted with EF (Education First). My contract was attached, and my Discovery bank statement clearly shows my monthly payments — which land regularly between the 20th and 22nd. Yet the refusal states that I did not prove that I am working or earning anything. This is completely false.

The decision also questions the source and purpose of a R35,000 deposit in my account. Again, this was explained in my accompanying letter, showing that it came from my mother (Ntombi Mabanna) to cover my travel. Her Stanlib investment statement was attached as well, and although the letter questions whether those funds are accessible — they are, within 24 hours of a withdrawal request. This was simply not taken into account.

Furthermore, the visa officer mentioned a contradiction in sponsorship. There was no contradiction. My mother was sponsoring me, and my brothers were assisting her with her own costs. This was explained in both sponsorship letters, and again — clearly overlooked.

I feel the decision was rushed and not properly vetted. What’s worse is that there is no appeal process for this kind of application, meaning applicants like myself — who followed the rules and submitted everything properly — have no recourse but to complain publicly. That’s exactly what I’m doing.

We’re not asking for special treatment. We’re asking for fair, thorough and respectful processing. If UKVI had properly reviewed my documents, this refusal could have been avoided.
