Trapped in SA

I'm the wife of a South African citizen and have had no problem getting or renewing my Temporary Residence Permits through Home Affairs for the past 5 years. Since VFS has taken over we app**** for my third renewal for me and my dependant daughter only to have it denied shockingly due to 'lack of bank statements' and ' no police clearance' for my 15 year old daughter! Police Clearance Certificates are only required for 18 on up and bank statements were not required for spouses in the past.

We appealed this decision within the required 10 days (and included bank statements) in January. It's now been 4 months and I have been unable to travel due to my current permit now overdue (I had 3 months valid when I app**** for what should have been a very standard renewal process) and am now stuck in SA (under threat of being banned from SA for 5 years if I do leave before the process is complete) with no one able to tell me how long it will take for these mistakes to be rectified.

VFS simply says only DHA is responsible and DHA says only VFS can track it. They give me 2 numbers to call, neither of which ever work and is obviously a brush off to get me off the call. Ridiculous.
