TRANSFER AND RECTIFICATION OF TEMPORARY RESIDENT VISA
Hi,
There is one thing that I do not understand about this department.
My temporary South African visa is valid until 2021 while, my passport would be expired on 2019.
In VFS website (https://www.vfsglobal.com/dha/southafrica/transfer-rectification.html) it has been mentioned that, a visa transfer would only take place from a ******/damaged/full passport. They refuse to transfer the visa from an expired passport to a new passport.
I do not understand the reason why expired passports are excluded from this policy.
If a passport is ****** or damaged, the applicant will have no other choice than applying for a new passport. So as if the passport is expired. So what is the difference?
The consequence of this policy is that, aside from the costs and extra admin work that I must do, I have to take the risk of getting another x-ray for visa application.
Has this policy been changed already or what I read in the website is really true?
Regards,
Hamed.
