VFS Global is the one private company contracted to deal with collecting paperwork and documentation to submit to Home Affairs in matters relating to immigration (visas, PR, extensions, renewals, etc.). First off, their website is not up to date with the current requirements for certain visas, and during the online application portion crashes multiple times where one has to wait at least 10 minutes each time to continue with the application. You have to contact their contact centre multiple times through the online form process in order to clarify what the specific fields really require as many descriptions are extremely vague. After you have managed to get through this step, you pay a generous R 1370 fee for their services , which basically amounts to scanning in your documents and forwarding the application to Home Affairs, in addition to the visa application fee of R 450. Next, you set up an appointment with your nearest VFS office for them to scan your documents as mentioned above.
