Shocking Service

Had the unfortunate experience of using the VFS Nelspruit office and it is an absolute joke.

Turned up for my appointment with double certified copies of everything they asked for on their checklist just in case. Got turned away because I apparently had downloaded the old checklist (there is only one checklist online and if it is outdated then update it for gods sake - you have 1 job!) and didnt have all the required paperwork. They were incredibly rude about this and told me it was my fault. Had to run around town for several hours that day to get back in time to resubmit.

The submitting process is a joke. You have to stand up while the 'checker' checks through the papers to make sure everythingis there then they seal it in a zipped wallet to hand TO THE PERSON SAT NEXT TO THEM who has just sat and watched them check its all there. He then checks it all again and reseals it for when THE SAME PERSON checks it for a third time in the biometrics room. An absolute joke and waste of time.

On top of all this - the whole point of paying the ******ionate fee (when it used to be free at home affairs) is that it is actually oragnised and the system works. Well I am still waiting 3 months later for a visa which I was told would take 8 weeks and I know many people who are still waiting a year later. Despite the disorganisation at home affairs, the system of doing it directly with them was far better.
