Overdue permit

<p>Good day,</p> <p> </p> <p>I have app**** for my PRP (spousal permit) a year ago - way passed the 8-10 months deadline that VFS gives you (or the 6 - 8 months deadline that DHA call centre has advised on).</p> <p> </p> <p>I cannot work without the permit nor do I see the point in applying for a separate work permit/endor*****t, when VFS/DHA takes months before the permits are issued, no employer will wait for me more than a month.</p> <p> </p> <p>I have emailed VFS many many times and every time there is no news, only:</p> <p> </p> <p>"The reference number provided shows that the application is still under process at the Department of Home Affairs.</p> <p> Also note that the Department of Home Affairs cannot guarantee the outcome or the length of time an application takes to process; neither can it guarantee the return of decision within a certain timeframe. This is due to the fact that applications are assessed individually and individual circumstances can mean processing times may vary and result in longer decision times. Therefore you are requested to wait until a decision on the application is taken since VFS Global does not have any control over the processing times."</p> <p> </p> <p>Why does VFS state on their website that the applications take about 8 months when they never meet this deadline? Individually assessed or not, you should say that applications take up to 2 years!</p> <p> </p> <p>Please someone get back to me and sort this out - PRP ********** </p> <p> </p>
