No response from VFS global

I app**** for my permanent residence permit (accompanying spouse) on 9 June 2017 with Vfs Global and such permits take up to 8 months to be released. I am approaching 9 months with no response from Vfs global. Every time I track my permit using the website it only says my application was received on the 13 June 2017 nothing more, no explanation or whatsoever on what stage my application is on. I have even called the Vfs global call centre to find out about my permit but they said they also do not have the power of tracking it and I must use the website. The website is not effective as it doesn't explain my application stage.
