Misinformation and Lack of Responsibility
For an Application/appeal that used to be free for all now costs R1350 per application with VFS. This payment is supposed to make the whole process efficient and easier, but no it is even worse. I have been waiting for 6 months now, even though VFS staff told me that my application would take between 8-10 weeks, but i haven't gotten any appropriate response and it is closed to 7 months now. VFS claims that they don't have any information and i should contact the department of home affairs. My problem is how can i pay for a service, and be kept in a limbo like this?

17 Jun 2015, 18:19Hello sultan003,
Thank you for taking the time to write to us and share your feedback.
Confirmation your feedback has been sent to our Cape Town office who will contact you within 2 working days.
Please allow us to reiterate applications have a minimum processing time of 8-10 weeks for Temporary Residence Permit applications and 8 - 10 months for Permanent Residence Permit applications. This is due to the fact that applications are assessed individually and individual circumstances can mean processing times may vary and result in longer decision times. Therefore you are requested to wait until a decision on the application is taken since VFS Global does not have any control over the processing times.
Kind Regards,
VFS Global
