<p>Previously when one had visa issues you would go to home affairs, a government institute that had little to no admin cost. Now i have to go through VFS global for any visa issues i have.</p> <p>I am a South African, my is Indonesian. We app**** and received her spousal permit in Jakarta, Indonesia at the S.A embassy during June 2014. We paid R250 for admin.</p> <p> </p> <p>Almost 2 years later its time for a renewal of the visa. I soon learned that the spousal visa carried no cost (i assume its because I'm south African ) through the Vfs site. However there's a R1350 fee that i must pay for making use of them (i fill out an online application form then get a list of additional documents required ,then pay, i got all the paperwork and printed and made copies of all necessary documents . At this stage everything was done online browsing their website). What service are they rendering, except for telling me which documents my wife needs for the renewal? </p> <p> </p> <p>Now that we have all documentation as per the website. I scheduled a appointment for 11am on 26 October 2016. We arrived early 20 minutes early only to be serviced 5 hours later (what's the point of scheduling an appointment ).</p> <p> </p> <p>To top it all off, they simply checked my wifes paperwork, gave her a thumbs up and a receipt and that was it.</p> <p> </p> <p>An entire afternoon and R1350 spent for a 15 minute paper check.</p> <p> </p> <p>N.B the papers are sent to Pretoria for processing, the same thing home affairs did. There's nothing special about vfs handling the paperwork, except being ****** of time and money.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
