Empty promises

So it has now been 10 days since my last explosion on HP. I was promised by these people at VFS that my matter would be investigated. I did receive a call from them, but unfortunately, given that I work during the day, I could not take the call. They then followed up with an email, which was promising, because it appeared that they would actually do something about it. The email requested my reference number. Before I responded to the email, I thought it expedient to rather call the number that I had missed - the number rang and rang, eventually I was confronted by a long answering machine instruction, which was to leave a message. Just as I was supposed to leave a message, I was informed by the robot that the mailbox was full and that no messages could be left (I thought this was something only the Public Sector had problems with). So, back to the email then - I responded, with both my applicaiton reference number, and the problem resolution reference number.

The following day, I receive an email from abother VFS mailbox (this time, from one of those annoying "no reply" mailboxes) requesting that I provide them with my reference number. I did. Again.

The following day I receive a third and final email, stating that the ticket has been closed, because I had failed to provide them with a reference number.

What I fail to understand is the complete inability to provide a service that is core to them. Maddening.
