Delayed Permit - Bank account blocked

Now that my permit has officially expired, I cannot access my bank account till I have submitted a permit. How do I sustain myself till then? You might as well as change your turn around time to 3 months, because I submitted an application in November for myself and December for my kid and no news so far. Let me break it down to you, I spent hours in Rivonia (evidence available) - company lost a day's productivity, paid money and voila my life is suddenly on hold, I cannot do anything since all transactions require identification.
