Correct Info provided but wrong VISA info provided

We collected my wife’s visa just over a week ago at the VFS branch in Rivonia and brought to the attention of the consultant that the printed visa did not contain my last name as we have married.

All documentation was completed with my last name but VFS still processed it on my wife’s ****en last name.

In addition to speaking to the manager, I now have to spend another R1350 to do a transfer to the new updated passport which contains the correct last name.

Questions: 1. Why was there no proactive approach in printing out the visa with her married last name despite using it on the application 2. Is VFS purposely making these mistakes just to get more money from foreigners/South African spouses? 3. Why must I pay for your mistake? 4. Nowhere on your website does it state that transfers must be done if the last name has changed which tells me the rectification is the responsibility of VFS without additional costing from us as the customer.

This is exceptionally disappointing and nobody at VFS gave a damn; this branch was more focused on getting us to come in again to do the transfer process and make us spend more money than we actually should.
