confusion reigns supreme, nobody seems to know what's going on.
<p>My wife entered South Africa in 2010 as a Polish citizen on holiday.</p> <p>SInce has re-entered the country nuemrous times since then.</p> <p> </p> <p>In sequence:</p> <p> </p> <p>a) she entered SA on a Visitors VISA</p> <p>b) again enetred on a Visitors VISA</p> <p>c) We app**** & received a life pertner VISA with Home Affairs (before we got married)</p> <p>d) Life Partner VISA was extended</p> <p>e) Life Partner VISA was reclasified to include work.</p> <p>--We got married--</p> <p>--Wife received a new passport--</p> <p>--Life Partner Permit was transfered to the new passport--</p> <p>--Wife does not work anymore--.</p> <p> </p> <p>We want to apply for permanent residency but need to apply for temporary residency first due to teh permanent taking solong to complete.</p> <p> </p> <p>The VFS call center staff REPEATEDLY gave us conflicting information on how we should proceed.</p> <p> </p> <p>They could not deciude if we should</p> <p>a) apply for spousal VISA </p> <p>b) chnage the classification of the existing life partner VISA</p> <p>c) SImply renew the lif epartner VISA (we chose this option)</p> <p> </p> <p>We duely completed all the documentation, booked an ppointment (and paid the R1350), sat for 3 hours after our appointment had passed, only to be told that we had completed the incorrect documents & that we need to go back & start over.</p> <p> </p> <p>The lady behnd the counter spoke in Home Affairs "code" was 100% unable to communicate what we had to do in order to continue.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>We have tried to start a fresh application on VFSGLOBAL's website for a Temporary VISA (SPOUSE) but the website assumes that we are not in South Africa.</p> <p>My wife has however lived in South Africa since 2010.</p> <p>We are being uasked about the amoutn of foreign currency we have and when she wants to arrive in SA.</p> <p> </p> <p>?</p> <p> </p> <p>We would be extremely happy to apply for my wife's VISA directly at Honme AFfairs but apparently this is nor possible and we need to pay VFS R1350 each time they get something wrong.</p> <p> </p> <p>Donb't understand the VBFS Global system at all.</p> <p>It appears to make very little sense, other than filling VFS Global's coffers.</p> <p> </p>
