I received my rejection letter for a temporary residence visa from VFS Global on Thursday. They rejected me based on the fact that my application did not have the original police clearance document.

When I submitted my application at the Brooklyn VFS centre, I had all of the originals along with certified copies. The VFS agent then put together the application that was submitted to Home Affairs. She is the one who chose the copy and not the original.

My issue is that now I must pay R1350 again to resubmit my application all due to the mistake of their agent. There are no instructions on the rejection letter, nor did the collection agent explain any of the procedures to me. I only learned this when I returned on Friday, with the original document and the officer turned me away.

My complaint isn't just for myself. It's for the lady standing next to me, who probably lost a days work to get there to submit her application, then pay a fortune for her taxi and to use the internet to apply, then print. Then lose another days pay to get the outcome, and have to pay the fee twice, which is most of her salary.
