After 11 months of waiting patiently I found out that my application was never received at home affairs

On the 10th of August 2018 I wrote acomplaint expressing my displeasure about the fact that VFS Rivonia ( South Africa) did not allow me to submit my appeal on time. The issue was that the appeal needs to be done in 10 days and their system was giving me a date later than that. VFS did eventually get back to me and accept my application (after the 10 days) My fear was that this would negatively affect the outcome of my application. After waiting patiently I decided to by-pass VFS and check directly with home affairs and I am told that on their system there is no reflection that the application was even received. I honestly dont know why we pay all this money to VFS and our files dont even reach home affairs! Now i feel the only way forward is to do another application hoping that this time it will reach its intended destination. In the mean time VFS will continue to charge money and they are the only one that benefits from the files not reaching Home Affairs
