Verimark a disgrace!

3 weeks ago I had my son's birthday party and he received 2 x I play glow tracks from Verimark. He opened the first box and the car wheel broke as we tried to set it up on the track. Very disappointing!! We decided that even with the broken car we would keep both boxes to extend the track and use the car from the second set. Within an hour (if that) of playing with the track and set the second car was broken. This item is for a 3-4 year old! How do you explain to a 4 year old that both the presents he just got had broken within an hour and he couldn't play with them anymore? I felt this was unacceptable. Especially considering this is a VERIMARK product and we expected a certain level of QUALITY. We then tried to return to the tracks to the stores they were purchased from (unfortunately, as these were gifts, we did not have the receipt and when I contacted my friends for their copies they had thrown them away) and the Verimark assistant said they could not do anything without a receipt, to prove where the item was purchased. On returning to the office and speaking to a colleague she said she had the same problem that the car broke soon after purchasing the set. Clearly this is a badly manufactured product, or else there are a lot of faulty products being distributed. Since this is a Verimark product, it should be irrelevant which store we bought it from so I contacted Verimark's online customer service centre, explained my situation and disappointment and requested a voucher to cover the cost of 2 x i play glow tracks or alternatively 2 replacement cars, I was happy to bring both sets to any verimark store in my area and exchange the broken cars. I also requested a guarantee to be able to exchange the replacement cars if they break within a few hours as this was bound to happen with poor quality products. I also asked if there was an option to purchase replacement cars so at least we could use the tracks. Their response was to copy and paste their policy which states that toys carry no guarantee. And my 'replacement car' question was ignored. I was not satisfied with this response and asked for the supervisors details, who did the same thing - Copy, paste, ignore my question. I then asked for her supervisors details and she gave me her own address - Seriously? When I said I did not want her address because she had not been helpful, she proceeded to ignore all my mails. Customer service at its WORST. On the website, Michael J Van Straaten quotes 'Always strive for only the very best' - Clearly not!
