Vacuum sat on for 21 days
I bought a Cyclovac, in April 2014, at Dion Wired Somerset Mall. On 2 Feb 2015 I returned the vacuum as it cuts out during use. They infomed me it will take 21 days. Finally, on 23 Feb I followed up as the 21 days had passed. They then suddenly realised that they should walk over to your store. On the same day I lodged a complaint and received a phone call that it has been serviced. I collected the unit yesterday and I could see that it has not been touched. I started vacuuming and after 2 minutes it was dead! 21 days, nothing was done to the unit, no interim solution. If you couldn't do anything to the unit, why was it not sent back to Dion? I've informed Dion that today I'm dropping this unit and collecting a new one. This is totally unacceptable. You charge an arm and a leg and your merchandise breaks within a few months.

We have been in touch with the service center in Cape Town regarding this matter. The Genesis Cyclovac Improved comes standard with a safety feature which automatically cuts out the power to the motor. This will normally occur when there is extreme strain on the motor or the motor overheats.
We were advised that the cause of the safety feature being activated was due to a dirty hepa filter. A dirty hepa filter will result in the air flow through the motor to be restricted to such an extent that the motor starts heating up and will result in the activation of the safety switch. In the event whereby the airflow through the motor is completely blocked, the motor will reach the required heat for the safety switch to be activated within approximately 2-3 minutes. Please ensure that the hepa filter is cleaned regularly and that there are no other blockages in the unit or the flex hose assembly.
We are happy we could assist in having the matter resolved.
