Repair Charge Despite Valid Warranty
I replaced my vacuum cleaner with the same model after the previous one stopped working. This was my third purchase of the brand and second of this model. Unfortunately, the suction failed in less than a year while still under warranty.
I submitted it for repair on 24 August and was advised it could take up to 21 working days. When I contacted Verimark directly, I was told that warranty-related repair costs should be covered by the retailer. Despite this, I am now being asked to pay R69 for repairs and still have not received my vacuum cleaner back.

10 Sept 2026, 09:34Dear Thulani,Thank you for your email. We understand your concern regarding the quotation; however, we would like to clarify that the issue identified is not related to a manufacturing defect or warranty failure.During the assessment, it was found that the filters were blocked and heavily soiled, which resulted in reduced suction performance. Unfortunately, the warranty does not cover consumable items such as filters, as these are wear-and-tear components and are for the end user's account. The quoted amount of R69 is therefore for replacement filters only.It is important to note that dirty or blocked filters restrict airflow, reduce suction power, and place additional strain on the motor, significantly reducing its lifespan. A clean filter performs its function effectively by filtering dust without restricting airflow, allowing the vacuum cleaner to operate at its full cleaning capacity. As stated in the user manual:"Should you experience a loss in suction power, please check as filters may be blocked."Regular maintenance of the filters is essential and can be done by gently tapping the filter outdoors to remove accumulated dust. For a more thorough clean, the filters may be washed; however, they must be completely dry before being refitted to the unit.Replacement filters are available for purchase at any Verimark Direct outlet.Should you agree to proceed with the replacement filters, we would also like to invite you to bring the unit to one of our Verimark Direct stores. Our team will gladly demonstrate the correct use and maintenance of the vacuum cleaner to help ensure optimal performance and avoid a recurrence of this issue in the future. We trust this clarifies the reason for the quotation and the findings of the assessment.Kind regards,The Verimark Team
