Poot service, poor products
I bought a Genesis Mini Max vacuum cleaner from Verimark Kolonnade and on the second use, it just stopped working and started producing black smoke. I took it back and requested a refund, which they refused to give me and told me to call their head office. I called and they still refused to refund me, but I am not confident in a product that just blows up for no apparent reason. To make matters worse, the shop assistants at Kolonnade were quite rude and unprofessional, accusing me of lying that I had only used the product twice.

If your goods turn out to be defective within the first 6 months after you received them from us, we will repair them, replace them, or give you a refund, provided that it is a material defect and that the defect did not develop as a result of abuse, fair wear, and tear, or through not following our or the manufacturer’s instructions
We appreciate the trouble you caused in bringing this matter to our attention. Through your feedback, we can identify and rectify problems and we thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback.

As I mentioned, the machine stopped working on the second use and it is still within six months of purchase. I am not comfortable with getting a repaired machine as I have lost confidence in the product itself, taking it back will only be a waste of my precious and hard-to-come-by money as I am sure I will not use it again.
May you kindly advise on the way forward.

As I mentioned, the machine stopped working on the second use and it is still within six months of purchase.
