Gesesis Carpet washer marketed by Verimark seems to be poor quality.
I bought an Genesis carpet cleaner from Verimark for close to R6000,00 aboput three years ago. It seemed to be fine but after 20 hours of use a water leak developed. It was handed in for repairs. After one month no feedback was received. I then enquired and was informed that the repair costs would be R1704.00. I requested a detailed quote. After receiving the quote I requested to speak to the technician because I needed some technical answers. I was then informed that technicians do not speak to clients. The front desk could not answer my questions and the manager refused to talk to me. Verimark then wanted to return the machine without repairing it and made the assumption that I rejected the quote. My questions remained unanswered. To me it seems that there is a faulty part in the machine and they tried to take money from me without explaining the situation. If this machine lasts only 20 hours there must be a problem somewhere. Fact is that Verimark sells the same machine on a daily basis as a quality machine. When it does not last they try to recover monies from the consumer without the professional support applicable to such machines. I strongly recommend that potential clients make very sure about after sale service and support since I had a bad experience with facts on hand. I will strongly not recommend the Genesis machine to anyone. The matter has been referred to the Consumer Council for investigation.
