GENESIS CYCLOVAC - A VACUUM THAT CANNOT VACUUM.

I bought a Genesis Cyclovac Cleaner last year in May 2024 at the Cape Gate branch. The vacuum worked in the beginning and after the third use, a burnt smell and weird sound came from the vacuum which eventually shut down the vacuum automatically. Upon switching it on again, it was clear that something was wrong. I returned it back to the store and it was booked in for a repair as the motor has been affected. After the repair, I have received back the vacuum and it was working again. After another second or third use of the newly repaired vacuum, it made a weird sound again which indicated that something was wrong with the vacuum. I returned it back to the store and was advised that it could be the filter and I was advised that the filter must be cleaned AFTER cleaning ONE room before you can re-use it. However, it was booked in again for a service. I received it back and it seemed to have worked again. Please note that this has happened twice within the last few months after I have purchased this product and I do not use it as frequently because I prefer to use it on items that can be deep-cleaned without using a broom such as a couch, mattress and any surface that accumulates smaller dust particles. Now, the vacuum has once again made a weird sound which seems that there is yet another fault on the vacuum. I returned it to the store today, and I am being told that it is the filter that it could be the filter, causing the vacuum not to work. The manager cleared out the dirt by tapping the filter on the floor and advised that there is "too much dirt" in the filter causing the motor to be affected which doesn't make sense as the amount of dirt that came out of the filter was not even as much to clog the filter. What I can't seem to comprehend is that this vacuum, designed to clean your space (big or small), will become faulty, due to the filter that is situated inside the compartment where the dust accumulates, causing the filter to become "too dirty" resulting the motor to be damaged. According to the manager, the filter must be spot clean after using it in a small room (not even the entire room) as my house is not very big before I can use the vacuum again, as the little bit of dust accumulated will cause the vacuum's motor to be damaged. So what is the purpose of this product if it cannot tolerate even the slightest amount of dirt that it accumulates (by design) to work effectively? Because according to my understanding, a vacuum is suppose to be remove dirt or debris from the surface but seems like this vacuum can only do this once off. The features of this particular vacuum even states that it has a thermal motor protection which safeguards the motor from overheating - So ironic. This has been far the worst electronic purchase and I would not recommend this product to anyone as it defeats the purpose as a cleaning product. If the purpose of the filter is to protect the motor and is designed within the main compartment but it should not get any dirt, DO NOT design the filter close to or even in the compartment that accumulates the dirt. It is only common sense.
