Failure to act in goodfaith, false advertising.

i bought an iron at Verimark Vaal Mall on the 29th of April 2025 to the amount of R899.99.The iron stopped working on the 25th of March 2026 but due to time constraints i only took it back to the store on the 04th April 2026 which was during the Easter weekend. To my disappointment i was told that im not going to get a new iron but rather the iron is going to be taken for assessment to check what is wrong with it,which it would only be collected on Tuesday the 07th of April 2026.Now here is my problem why was i not told this before purchasing the item, because i could have easily taken my money else and bought an iron where i know should the item give me a problem i can easily return it hassle free for a new one.Why cant i be given a new one while the shop deals with whatever the problem is.How long am i going to wait for the assessment, what guarantee do i have that i would be given my iron and not someone else's ,or a scratched item when mine was in perfect condition. The store did not act in goodfaith prior to the purchase because had they done so i would have easily gone to another store. This is very disappointing and bad service.

Hi Nana, Thank you for your feedback, and we are sorry for the inconvenience caused. Please note that, as per policy and the CPA, items over 6 months old are assessed for repair before a replacement or refund can be considered. This is why the store booked your iron in for assessment. All repairs are handled properly, and your unit is tagged before collection to ensure you receive your own item back in the same condition. The repair turnaround time is approximately 21 working days. We understand your frustration and appreciate your patience while the assessment is being completed. Kind regards,
The Verimark Team
