Don’t touch Verimark products!
I bought a multi cyclonic vacuum cleaner a month ago but it over heats and cuts out. It took me an hour and a half to vacuum my 3 bedroom house which is mostly tiled because I had to wait half an hour for it to cool down each time it over heated. I took it back to the store and they refused to refund me even though section 56 of the CPA says that I’m entitled to a refund because the item is not of good quality, is not in good working order and is not free of defects. The area manager was very stroppy as was their ‘customer care’ agent. Just don’t do it, there are loads of other options. This business needs to be boycotted and/ or shut down.

09 Jan 2025, 12:25There is no valid reason that a 1 month old vacuum cleaner should over heat and cut out other than if it is defective.
The Consumer Protection Act says : In terms of s56 (read with s55) of the CPA, all goods sold to a consumer are sold with an imp**** warranty of quality, that cannot be contracted out of or revoked. The warranty gives the consumer the right to receive goods that:
I have the RIGHT to a refund and you do not get to make me jump through hoops. This is ******* and unjustified.

- Under the CPA, you have the right to request a refund, replacement, or repair if the product is defective within 6 months of purchase.

09 Jan 2025, 18:02Thanks for paraphrasing my response. I’m prepared to allow you until close of business tomorrow to authorize my refund. If not, I will take this matter up with the Consumer Ombudsman.
You are blatantly trying to make what should be a simple process as complicated as possible in the hopes that people will give up. Look at how many complaints there are on this platform, you are losing customers in the daily. They are all about the same thing. Fix your business practices or, better yet, fix your products.
