Bauer lid exploded while cooking

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention.
The Bauer Lid is a ultra hardened tempron lid. What this means is that the glass the lid is made or designed to be much stronger than normal glass. This allow for the glass to not shatter into jagged shards but rather crack and remain in its original form. This works on the same principle as shatterproof glass motor vehicle windscreens are made of. You can clearly see this as the lid is still intact, even though its cracked. This normally happens when there is a fine hairline crack in the Glass lid which will then result in the Lid to crack like this, as soon as it is exposed to heat.
We do advise on our packaging that, once you notice a fine hairline crack on your lid you discontinue the use thereof.
