Want to blacklist me for an account I had 6 years ago
<p>I got a call from vericred regarding a African bank account I had 6 years ago... I told them that they should stop harassing me as I have not received any writing or balance for more than 3 years and that this debt is prescribed. They keep on sending me sms that I would be blacklisted if I don't pay. Can this please stop... when contacting African bank and telling them this they drop the line</p>
Good day, we hereby wish to inform that contrary to your incorrect statement, VeriCred is a COLLECTION agency and do not blacklist as you claim on this forum. You were duly blacklisted by AFRICAN BANK upon default, thus prior to handover. Be that as it may, we have subsequently investigated with African Bank who advised that you have a total of FOUR (4) outstanding unpaid and overdue accounts of which THREE (3) have prescribed. The one account which they handed over for collection to VeriCred, i.e. your CREDIT CARD account, has not prescribed as you allege. You have made subsequent payments to the account and prescription thus commences on date of last payment. You are thus liable to settle the account in question and as a result VeriCred will still contact you for payment as per instruction received from our client AFRICAN BANK, Please be guided that your details on the credit bureau will only be updated once the account in question is repaid in full. Should you have any concerns or enquiries etc on your account we suggest you contact African Bank in this regard.
