Vericred is a ****

Vericred collections is a ****. I was unemployed for over three years and could not make payments. I got a job in 2021 and called to make arrangements. The agent told me that I must pay an amount of R500, I told her I felt it was too little as I wanted pay off my debt and clear my credit record. I agreed anyway. A few months down the line, another agent call to offer me a discount which I could not afford then, I asked her about my instalment and she said I can pay a R1000, I asked her to make it R1500, which she did. I later found out that according to Experian that the minimum amount I should be paying is R2580. I called Vericred on the 9th of September 2024 to make an enquiry and increase my installment to R2600. The agent that assisted me informed me of the discount and I told him to only increase the instalment as I did not have the said amount. I called on Saturday the 14th of September to check if the discount was still there and was informed that it expired on the 5th of September, yet I was told on the 9th that it was still there. The agent told me to call and check on Thursday if it will still be there. I think these agents get paid from commision made from our monthly instalments hence the reluctance to give is the right information. I am stuck because of this Vericred debt. Can someone kindly assist.
