Vericred Customer Service
Is there a rating lower than 1 star? I started receiving phone calls from Vericred late last year. It was with respect to a Wits student account. I immediately knew that it was a mistake since I am a bursar and my company settled the account in full 2 years ago already. I explained this to the various call centre agents with a request that they contact Wits to sort out the issue. Instead, I received more e-mails, more SMS's and more and more phone calls. I do not understand how Vericred can have a client make a mistake and expect me to do anything about it. Vericred has got a business arrangement with Wits, not with me. Vericred needs to verify the accuracy of claims with their client - it is not my responsibility. If Vericred expects me to assist them in resolving the matter, they can pay me for my time. I am under no obligation to spend any time on this. (You may proceed to legal proceedings if you want to - I have all the proof I need to show that I owe Wits nothing) I think the Vericred business model relies on fees collected for sms, phone calls and e-mails and that is why they have no interest in resolving the matter with their client - who made a mistake. I will be wasting the next Vericred callers time....I can be creative in extending calls to a few hours...good luck.
Your overdue account was handed over for collection by the University in January 2021 due to non-payment. You mention that you have proof yet decline to submit it. Please take cognisance that WITS require the relevant proof to investigate and it is your obligation to supply same to enable us to have your allegations investigated with them.
Please take note that contrary to your comments of '.....VeriCred business model relying on fees etc...', there is NO fees applicable on your outstanding account as you claim on this forum.
Be that as it may, we will take it up with WITS and if they request the relevant proof you will have to provide same. In the interim a HOLD was placed on your account until clarity received in this regard from the University of the Wi****ersrand and we shall revert in due course. Thank you.

Please refrain to using word like "your outstanding account", even if you believe it to be true, it is in fact a false statement.
